A Latte to Love About Coffee

I was the one who discovered the awful situation and had to break the news to my boyfriend. He was still blissfully sleeping without a care in the world. As he awoke, I gently shared the information that would shatter his morning...Mr. Coffee had passed away! Our beloved coffee maker had taken its last brew. We both need coffee to properly function and this was not a good way to start the day.

Despite being born in the state that invented Dunkin' Donuts, I wasn't much of a coffee drinker growing up. I am still amazed that I made it through my college days without caffeine. During my first few years working in New York City I discovered my gateway coffee drink --- the infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. It tasted a lot more like pumpkin than like coffee and gave me the boost I needed to get through the work day. My go to coffee these days is Dunkin' Donuts vanilla flavor. I swear it tastes different in Brooklyn versus Massachusetts and my theory is because of the water.

We quickly placed an Amazon order for a new coffee maker but that didn't solve our immediate need for caffeine. So with a sad look at our reliable old friend Mr. Coffee, we headed out to the nearest Dunkin' Donuts for our caffeine fix.
